Frank Wesson Pocket Rifle?

Because I'm still new to collecting, I thought I'd take the opportunity to ask an uninformed question before more is expected of me. I have a Frank Wesson pocket rifle. Is it safe to presume that Frank had no connection with Daniel B., or where they competing relatives?

Now that I was given a head start on research . . . you would think that they would have been real competitors, but it looks like Daniel named his son (who died in a train accident) Frank. So, unless "Frank" is a family name, I'd have to guess they were pretty close.
