Fraudulent CCI sites

The big tipoff is that they don’t take any form of payment except Venmo or some other system with no recourse. Ask me how I know.

Red flags of such sites include prices well below market, good availability of otherwise unavailable items, and payment by direct transfer or crypto-currency instead of credit cards.

Thanks for the Heads - Up !

No more ... Truth In Advertising

That's kinda sad ... but I usually just assume a new site is a Scam unless one of you computer knowledgeable guys gives it the Thumbs Up .

Scammers could have a field day with me ... they could Pluck me like a Chicken ... I don't know much about the Computer World.

Thanks Again !

I had a Facebook ad earlier this week for a supposed huge ammo sale from Federal.. The site looked legit but it just didn’t add up. I went to the real Federal site and they had a banner on top warning about fake web sites.

I work for a major sporting goods manufacturer and we deal with this type of thing more often that most folks would realize. If the fake site originates overseas it can be tough to get it taken down.

Stick with credible, established companies. You'll pay more but you'll get the merchandise, unlike the crook dealers.

I'm seeing fake Sierra Bullets "Warehouse Clearance" sales with stupid cheap prices. Like 9mm JHP for $15 /500. 90% off. Don't think so. Sierra has the banner warning about it too.

I just noticed that Southern Defense, an ammo drop shipper, is now Black Basin Outdoors. I'm wondering about that one. I've used SD in the past with good results. Hard to keep up these days with internet companies and scammers.

I don't "do" Facebook so there's no scams coming in that way. There are some via Google. Just about all of my ammo purchases now are from SGAmmo out of Oklahoma. Free shipping over $200. Fast and fair. I buy a lot of .22, .380, 38 spl. and 9mm. Never a problem. The price you're quoted is it.
