I like walk into this gun store to kill some time. I walk past the display cases checking out their wares and behind the counter I see ............

Primers.

I tell the guy behind the counter "I need some small pistol primers". He then actually...........................

Hands me a brick.

I walk to the register and pay for them. I carry them out of the store to my car. I caress the beautiful blue box. I shake them gently remembering that sound from long ago. They are real. They are wonderful.

I have just bought primers, retail.

Freaky.

Our store here in Tally got a bunch in today, about 50-60k. We paid around $40/k for some of them though. They will still sell at that price

Primer price

$32 per thousand. Not good but reasonable. I think that as supply increases prices will drop. It's just a matter of time.

Alot better than the $65/thousand I saw people pay just last spring at a gun show..and they were standing in line for their rationed 2 bricks per customer.

I remember primers at 6.00 a brick and most powders at 3.00 a lb..
Must admit it was a day or two ago...

I bought my powder in a paper bag ...scooping it in for 45 cents a pound from Carpenters Feed and Seed In Provo, Utah. 1962

:D:D So good it's worth repeating!:D:D

If you are not a writer, you should be.:)

Some of you probably remember the 5 cent candy bars our grandfathers told us about!

I'm usually behind the door when the deals happen. But this time I was ahead of the the whole mess. Three years ago I went to my local discount store & bought 4 bricks of primers, LP,LR,SP & SR. 12 bucks each. Had a bunch of older ones in my shop. I used up most of the old stuff & never had a misfire. These date from the 60's. Just like money in the bank.

And Engineer1911...remember how BIG those 5 cent candy bars were?
Now they're a buck, and tiny. (Hey, maybe I got bigger) I am depressed.

Three Musketeers. Yummm.

Back then, they would actually FEED three musketeers.
