I guess there has been enough response to my College Baseball post yesterday to again start a thread for following the NCAA tournament from regional and super-regional play through the College World Series (we did this last year). Regional Play begins this weekend. My Mississippi State Bulldogs will be among the hosts, as well as our arch-rival, ole miss, and our baseball rival, LSU. Other SEC schools hosting regionals are Arkansas, Georgia, and Vanderbilt. But this is not an SEC thread - it is for all of college baseball. Oregon State, the defending national champion, is again hosting in Corvallis. I think Oklahoma State and West Virginia are also hosting regionals. There are a total of 16 regionals across the country.

The full bracket for the 64 team field should be announced later today, and hopefully will get posted.

Since there were a few responses to my College Baseball thread concerning Women's Softball, I think it would be OK to include them in this thread. I believe they have had their regionals and super-regionals, and will be starting their CWS in Oklahoma City soon.

If you are a fan of college baseball then this is the part of a long grinding season that you have waited for. I keep up with the LSU Tigers team year round and now is when it gets really enjoyable as well as nerve-racking.

Of the approximately 299 NCAA Division 1 baseball teams only 64 are selected to participate in the Regionals. The field of 64 will soon become 16 teams playing in the Super Regionals. Only 8 teams will be left after the Super Regionals and those teams will be playing in Omaha Nebraska.

Now we are where we all hope our team is....the 2019 College World Series. I hope this thread draws lots of attention and good conversations.

Good luck to all the teams vying for a chance to be one of the 8 in Omaha.

GEAUX TIGERS!!!

A day after winning the American Athletic Conference Tournament, the Cincinnati Bearcats discovered their fate for the upcoming NCAA Baseball Tournament. The Bearcats will take part as the No. 4 seed in the Corvallis Regional. The other three teams in the regional are the hosting Oregon State Beavers, the No. 2 seed and Big East champion Creighton Bluejays and the No. 3 seed Michigan Wolverines.

Urban Meyers son, Nate, plays for UC.

I'm keeping my Buckeyes and Tar Heels(alma mater) paraphernalia handy, too.

It's never easy, is it? I also better stock up on nerve tonic.

Good luck all. Play ball!!

Just want to clean up an error I made in my previous post. Not all 64 teams are selected by a committee, some get an automatic bid as a result of winning their conference tournament.

It doesn't matter how they became part of the 64 team field, they all had to endure the grind and expectations of their fans.

Good to see the enthusiasm! But now we have to wait until Friday to "Play Ball"! Wish it would start tomorrow.

Rusty,LSU had to travel to Corvallis last year and did not fare well. I don't know who the Beavers bring back from last years team or how hot they are now. They play tough in Corvallis and Pat Casey does an excellent job of coaching. Good luck to the Bearcats

It was Cajun Lawyer's post inquiring about Corvallis that inspired last year's thread. Hope he will be along to join the rest of you tigers and participate in this year's thread.

I'm hoping to see the Louisiana State Fighting Tigers get another National Championship on the 10 year anniversary of their last one.

GEAUX!!!

It would be nice to have some of the arms that we are without due to injury. The hitting is going to have to pick up,several players need to get hot and others need to remain consistent. As far as defense we need to tighten up and make a few less errors.

We need to quit running ourselves out of innings and cut down on strikeouts. Of all the places they could have sent Stony Brook...oh well they must have had a good laugh when they made that decision.

Time to take some revenge out on Stony Brook!

My boy just graduated high school (Valedictorian) and is going into agriculture at Mississippi State. We moved him into an apartment last week as he is interning for a professor thru the summer, So I must proclaim "Hail State". We were fortunate enough to see a game against South Carolina two weeks ago at the new Dudy Noble Stadium. I must say I am looking VERY forward to the next four years. Win or lose a good time will be had by ALL.

Roger
