I have a M&P compact 9mm, and want to put a front night sight on the gun.

I would appreciate any advice on both the type and, in particular, the hight and width of the sight I should get.

I was on the Dawson site and noticed that they come in many different widths and hight.

Whatever I get, I will have it installed by a gunsmith.

Thanks.

I think there is a limit on the sizes of night sights, they need room for the capsules. Normally the night sights are taller so your rear sight may have to be changed also. If the gun shoots POA for you now your best bet is to measure the front relace it with the same if available. Novaks can make night sights down to .190"H I believe, so if your gun is shooting high or low you could correct it there.

just get the stock size FS. be aware, unless you have a pusher,it may be difficult to change.

I would call Dawson Precision with your questions and concerns. They are very helpful and knowledgeable.
