Gas station courtesy? (Yes, this will be a rant.)

Being a florida boy another fun one is at public boat ramp. If you can't back your boat into water and have your truck clear and boat clear in by yourself in five minutes you should not. Have that boat.

Yes! This is actually on my bucket list. I plan to find a busy boat dock in beautiful Louisiana, plunk down my lawn chair and beer cooler, and enjoy the show.

You would have loved to watch me this one day...

Years ago, I had a bass boat. I'm a terrible fisherman and should never have bought it, but I did.

I decide to head out on the lake one day. I get to the boat ramp and back the boat into the water. Yep, forgot to take the straps off the stern. The trailer is heavy enough or the boat small enough, that it pulls the stern under the water and fills the boat. OK, rookie mistake. Pull the boat out, remove drain plug and watch all the water leave the boat.

Once empty, I start backing the boat down the ramp again. This time I made sure I removed the straps. Of course I forgot to put the plug back in. Pull it out again.

Now, I just want to get on the lake, but I'm frustrated at myself. Once empty again, straps off, plug in, I back it back into the water. Unhook bow from trailer, start motor, put in reverse to back away from trailer. Because I'm frustrated, I give it a bit of gas. Yep, the motor is strong enough that it pulls the stern under the water and I'm filled up again.

This time I put it on the trailer and just go home.

A BOAT RAMP FAV

The ACE that ALMOST does it perfectly. Backs up like a pro, unhooks the boat/straps, zips in fast, hits the brakes & the boat flies off the trailer into the water, & KEEPS GOING. Owner has to swim after it. :D
