I've got a S&W 640-1 .357. It's a 5 shot with a 2" barrel and I've had it for about 15 years ... absolutely love the gun and it's one of my 3 carry options.
I'm a big fan of carrying Gold Dot 38spl 135gr +P Short Barrel ammo. It's a great load for the short barrel but I'd really like to carry .357 ammo if I can gain some benefit via increased velocity with nearly the same muzzle flash and recoil of the 38spl loads I carry from GD.
I've recently been reading about the GD .357 135gr Short Barrel ammo ... it looks very interesting. It's got a muzzle velocity of 990 fps compared to the GD 135gr 38spl +P of 860 fps. I'm reading that muzzle flash is minimal and recoil is very managable.
Anybody here have opinion or experience with the GD .357 135gr Short Barrel ammo? Thanks
