I am in Northwest Georgia and all we have is rain. My 75 year old mother and her 81 year old husband are in Waycross, extreme Southeast Georgia, and spent the early afternoon in the basement closet and expect to be back in again around 6:00pm. South and South Central Georgia is really taking a beating.

David,

Thanks for checking. I'm just north of Atlanta and we are fine. Looks like the monsoons have rolled in for the past few days and we may become waterlogged. I agree, the people in south and central Georgia are not doing well.

Keeping my powder dry!

Man, you folks are tough. Been thinking about you.

Went to the local eatery for lunch today. All of us agreed we'll take our 8' piles of snow around town instead of those spinning clouds.

Take care and be safe,

Bob

Seeing this a little late but I'll check in from south central Georgia...We were hit hard in this area. Last number I saw said 15 deaths total from the storms. Valdosta sustained minor damage but 20 miles north, they took the brunt of Saturday's wind. Destroyed property and lives. It's still windy today but clean up for the property damage is underway. Sunday's storms devastated Albany and SW GA too...Shelters open all around SW GA...

SE Ga. looks like it was hit at least twice.
Looking to hear from redlevel in here if he has a chance.

Sorry for the delay reporting.
Have been recovering from wrist surgery and not on
the forum a lot since Friday.

There was some extensive damage to a farm home about five
miles west of me. Other than that, just a lot of rain.

The most death and destruction was 70-100 miles south of us.
We are 100 miles south of ATL. Albany, and a smaller town called
Adel were hard hit. A 200 unit mobile home park was just about
totally destroyed. I figure the death toll will be revised upward
when everyone is accounted for. It was the second hard punch
in just a few weeks for Albany and surrounding area. The president
called Governor Deal almost immediately pledging help. Numerous
churches will of course send money, goods, chainsaw and cleanout
crews, and of course, prayers and spiritual encouragement.

As is often the case, the people who lost most materially speaking
are probably those who can least afford the loss.
