Good advice. I had my first one a year or so ago. The prep is no fun, but overall the procedure is no big deal. It's definitely worth the minor inconvenience.
My prep day wasn't that bad, they had me mix a whole bottle of Mirilax into a two liter bottle of Gatorade and drink it all. It was just like pissing through the other orifice. Not at all like the crampy ****z you get with the flu or eating something bad....And with modern twilight IV's, you don't remember anything. But man, afterwards, I was HUNGRY.
I would add, if you're adopted get it done sooner. I tried to get one at 40, but my doc said I couldn't, because I didn't have a family history. I told him, "I'm adopted, how do you know I don't have a family history?" I found another doc and got one done at 45. Same thing if your parents died early, like in their 30's or 40's, of a heart attack or car crash. How do you know they wouldn't have developed colon cancer at 45 or 50?
No! The new ones are much better...... I know!
Can you guys more accurately pinpoint when these hideous, disgusting poisons started to get so much tastier and better.I did the Mirilax and Gatorade thing too, drank the whole thing in no time. Seriously, it was a much improved version of the stuff I drank on the previous procedure, which was a mixture of turpentine, floor wax and anti-freeze.![]()
Also add a full body mole check. And while you're at it, GET A PSA TEST !!!!
At least the newer prep's are better than the ones 12-15 years ago.
