Getting ready for winter boys, it's coming.

Well, winter is coming before you know it. I just finished up with my firewood splitting and can check that task off the list for this year.

You guys are set. I'm too gimped up after 40+ years dealing with wood. This will be my second winter with a gas stove. Not as good as wood, but it works OK.

This gets tougher every year. Oh, and don't forget the kindling!

I only have the upstairs fire place burn on Christmas.
Down stairs fire place was converted to gas for my wife.....
Still have about two cords of split Tamarac in the wood shed.....

I put in a vent free fireplace with gas logs in the new house I just built. The salesman kept trying to talk me into it but I asked "how can a vent free fireplace work without an odor"? The logs are porcelain instead of ceramic and are set where the flames never touch them and sure enough, it has ho odor or smell of any kind and man, it cranks out the heat! My furnaces down stairs and upstairs barely turn on.
