I feel sorry for people that fell victim to fashion and didn't or won't buy clothing that is proper for the season. It is winter, in the north we get snow and cold weather! Cut-offs and tennis shoes are not going to cut it. The school board's are using forecasted "Chill Factors" to close schools in advance now. They determine a "Threshold" and close. For Columbus, Ohio it is -20 (F), That is playing weather for people that were in High School in the 1960's and 70's. Chicago it is -30, for Minneapolis it is -70 (I think they know what cold is) (also remember; the largest population of Somali immigrants is there) and the have a reasonable threshold. In Columbus, we have a private charity that provides warm clothing to anyone who can't afford it for school children for free. People are too lazy to go get it. (At the beginning of the school year, one cab company will take you there for free!). In MHO it is no crime to be poor, but any parents should be charged/fined for not having warm clothes for their kids! (End Rant) Ivan
