I've owned few Glock pistols, a 23, 21SF, 31, and a 17. My 17 will never leave me. All the rest have been sold or traded without a second thought. They all shot well for me and I never had ANY problems with them. I can shoot my 17 very well because I've shot it so much. I love the way it points, and how low the slide is. Your buddy just needs practice. I think Glock is the best plastic gun out there. That said, I'd love to have a M&P 40. M&P's are the only other plastic I look at. I've handled many a plastic H&K, Taurus, Springfield, and others that I just didn't like the feel. Glock pistols just fit my hand so well. I'm new to the 3rd Gen Smiths. I've had a 1076 I traded for a 1006. I love them both. I'd like to have a 3913 and a 5906. Smiths do look a lot better than the Glock guns. But they all do what I need them to do.
