First let me start by saying that I'm not a Glock guy. I'm a gun guy. So this simple review won't be biased but truthful.
Been looking for a smaller double stack 45 Auto for quite a while now. Not much appealed to me neither did they fit my hand very well.
Along came the 30S. One of Glocks newest guns on the market. But hard to find.
The 30S has the 30SF frame mated with the 36 slide. It uses a dual captive recoil spring assembly. Everything else is traditional Glock. Even though Glock considers this gun to be a sub compact, I consider it to be a little large for that classification. But as it sits in an IWB holster, it is very easy to conceal.
In Glocks 30+ years, they have had problems but their reliability has continued to be legendary as most know.
After 200 rounds at the range today this gun didn't disappoint. Fits my large hands fairly well. Recoil is minimal for me and accuracy is as expected. The gun is susceptible to limp wristing which was evident when I shot weak hand only. A little more concentration solved this problem.
Because of the minimal recoil, quick and accurate follow up shots were easy.
Overall I'm very happy with it. Will be changing out a few parts in the near future. This will be my new carry gun replacing a Glock 19.
So if you're contemplating a smallish 45 Auto, the 30S may just be for you.
