Bought an M&P9 last week. The feel of the weapon is phenomenal and it is sized between the Glock 17 and Glock 19. That says a lot considering you can fit 18 rounds into the platform.

I do not intend to baby this pistol. I will keep you posted as to how it performs.

I'm curious to ask since you are a new convert. What are your feelings about the trigger between the Glocks you have had and your new M&P and the ease of shooting?

You will love it. Supposedly S&W spent a ton of money on ergonomics research unlike Glock that used a 2x4 for the prototype mold =P

S&W trigger can be cleaned up (Apex) to feel as good as a cleaned up Glock trigger. It is the ergonomics that makes the M&P a winner hands down...... just my opinion.

I think an apex trigger in an m&p is way better than a glock... But I haven't messed with any glocks that are tuned to a high degree, just polished up for smooth feel and a clean 5.5lb break.

I like the trigger on my 19, but my apex trigger beats it. I did polish up the trigger bar in addition to adding the kit.

Another vote for the Apex upgrades. I installed the Apex FSS and trigger kit in my M&P and it is schweeeet! Smooth, short reset, and 4.5 lb trigger pull.

I got away from Glocks about 3 years ago. Traded my G19 for an M&P 9fs and added an Apex FSS. Loved it so much I picked up a FDE 45fs and did the FSS treatment to it as well. But the entire time I always wanted to get another G19. Saw one on Armslist a couple of weeks ago, and picked it up. It's just one of those guns that needs to be in the collection.

In my opinion the new production M&P's with just a polished striker block are equal to, if not better than a Glock factory trigger.

It's either a 10 minute job, or a $30 part. I find that most of the grit is eliminated with a smoothed Striker Block.

My wife carries the M&P9c & loves it, I the penny pincher went with the SD9ve for $200 less & I am happy with it.
I have shot the M&P9fs & G19 side by side at the range.
The Glock is a good gun & I could learn to like it, but the next gun I get will be an M&P F S not sure yet if it will be in 9mm.

We also have a 1911 45 acp 3 1/2 lb. trigger pull & all you have to do is think about the reset & it is there. The only thing I don't like about it is feeding it.
That said it is a range & every now and then a competition gun.
Neither of us would carry or use it for primary self defense.

In my carry & self defense pistols I want a stiffer & some what long trigger, double taping in a stressful situation is not a good idea. :)
