I am stumbled upon a clean, blue, Model 15-3 with a 2 inch barrel and stag grips with the S&W logo. I know these models were primarily made with the 4" barrel and don't know if the grips are original to the revolver, so I was wondering how "unique" this gun might be. The asking price is $650 which I thought was a bit steep. I don't currently have access to my Gunbroker password to do a completed auctions search so I am reaching out to all of the knowledgeable forum members for their opinion on the value of this gun. I should add that the gun is about 95% condition and I do not believe it has the box. What do you all think? Thanks for your help!!!!

I think about $200 steep... but I am a realist and wouldn't pay $650 for a snub 19. Gun show last weekend had 36's for $600 and model 10's for $400 to $500 but I never saw one sell...

Paid $700 for one a year ago that was LNIB.

The snubbies are bringing premiums, so $550 to $600 in that condition here in NC would not be out of line.

I would rather pay that much if it had original grips, unless those are real stags.

I think the price is on the high side. I bought a snubby model 36 for $350 and a model 10 snubby for $400. The $650 figure is high.

If those grips are genuine stag, I'd suggest you go for it at
$650. With $650 being the asking price, you may be able to get it for a little less. :)

Been a dealer at the Reno shows with a pristine 2" 15-3 sitting on his table for over 5 years at $650. Add sales tax and fees and you're north of $700. Dude is standing firm.

I was just looking at one in pretty nice condition with the ugliest camo pacs for grips that i have ever seen. I think it was at $495. I passed but may go back and look again. Think I could get it for less.

I am going to go back and try to talk the price down a bit. If I can't get it, it wasn't meant to be....

If I really wanted it, I wouldn't let $50-100 stand in my way. I've got several guns that I paid top dollar and at least one I paid over top dollar but I really wanted them. Spending a few extra bucks won't really affect my life down the road and the fun I've had shooting those guns now make what I spent seem like a bargain. Nice guns won't go down in value either. As many have said here before, "you didn't pay too much, you just bought early".

A set of elk grips runs about $150,stag a good bit more.Original magnas are about $50.The price isn't bad.

IIRC Executioner's elk Stag with medallion run about $170 these days + shipping............... So say $470 for the gun.

I'd do it................ the 2" 15s are sweet little guns..... been looking for a nice one in LGS in W. Pa. for about 10 years...... Depending what "clean" means....... it's a $500-600 gun around here w/o the stag grips..

Where I live that gun would last on the shelf about 3 minutes!:D
Ask yourself this; how many 2 inch Model 15s have you seen in person? And how long will it be before you see another one?
I say jump on it and enjoy it!

I found my 15-2 2" on the table at the Dallas gun show...it was pretty clean and marked $595. I walked around a bit as I learned long ago dont fall in love with the first gun you see.....I did find another but it was beat up and $50 more....I went back and asked if he could knock some off the price and he took $20 off....not much but I was happy at $575. The above poster is right....How many 2" 15s do you see anymore?

I think $650 is just the higher end of a realistic price. When is the last time you had an opportunity to buy one that nice? And, when will be the next opportunity?

You will have more regrets letting it go than wrestling over the initial price. it isn't outlandish to ask a little more for stag grips and a gun that the previous owner took pride in and kept in good shape.

Going price for a 15-3 2" blued

I gave $700 for this 15-4, at the top of value but I wanted the condition and box, accessories, etc. it has a little cylinder line but I just had to accept that. Without the matching box and all it would be a $550-$600 purchase absolute tops for me.
