I've had my M&P9 for a month now and I hate to admit I haven't put a round through it. I didn't want to do anything until I got my license to carry here in Pa. I've never owned a handgun until now. I got my license and I'm going to put some rounds downrange tomorrow.

How do you stand it? Every gun I've bought has gone bang within 2 hours of opening the box. I set a speed record with the Ruger Single Six I just bought. The FFL transfer was at the range. I ran a few patches down the bore and chambers and was shooting within 15 minutes. (I had already read the manual online)
Have fun at the range. You said you haven't owned a handgun, but have you done much shooting? Was there a range qualification for the carry permit?

Have fun at the range! I only recently got into guns and was even worse with my first gun, a G19. I bought it in April of 13 and didn't go to the range until October. At the time I didn't know what I was missing. A buddy of mine basically forced me to go to the range with him and I had a fantastic time. I've gone to the range at least once a week ever since and just started shooting at IDPA matches a couple of months ago. Oh yeah, I've also picked up 4 more handguns and built an AR-15 since October. Good luck with your new hobby :D

Good luck, be safe and have fun!

I am new to shooting also.

Be curious how it goes.

I think the longest I've gone between making a purchase and actually shooting it was around 48 hours.

Hope you enjoy your session and have a great time!

I got my first gun on 06/03/2014 and i am taking it to the range for the first time also today. It is my Father's Day present so i decided to wait until today.

This will be my first time at the range without an instructor but i think I'm ready.

Have a great day!

best to you,

rick

Yes I do shoot quite a bit but it's always been rifles, shotguns, muzzleloaders. I've hunted since I was old enough to. There wasn't a qualification for the permit I just had to fill out a form at the county sheriff's office and they did a backround check all in all a pretty easy process.
