It won't survive a SEAL dive, the concussion from an IED, or a bullet strike, and it's not NV compatible, but it holds its zero well (on a .22 especially), adjusts well, and mimics the look and feel, which is the essence of a training rifle.

I bought this one with the high cantilever mount.

This is what it currently looks like. I have some colored rail covers on the way (I already chipped one rail, downside of plastic). I'm not sure if I want a 3x or 5x magnifier. After shooting with a 4x ACOG at 50 yards I think 3 might not be adequate, I'd really like to try one first but I can't find anywhere to do so.

Thank you. That is pretty much exactly what I want to do. You know I can see what you mean. I'll have to go out and shoot a friends rifle at 50yds with his scope to see the diffrance between the 2 magnifications and decide which one I like better. But that is exactly what I wanna do with mine though.

I have the Simmons 8 Point 4X32 and I must say its a VERY clear sight,( even in low light) the personal focus option( that give a slight zoom effect is a added bonus) is VERY welcomed! Even though its listed as a 4X if you go to the 2nd tab( labled attributes) on the link I will provide, it actualy goes up to "technically" 7X, when using the personal zoom/focus, and it DOES make a difference.

I bought it new a few days ago from Dicks sporting goods, for 29.99 with no rails. Bought those from Walmart. As far as the scope goes, its fog, shock and weatherproof in general, and for 30 bucks, its a steal! Here is a link for it on nightvisonplanet.com. I love this thing!
