Anybody very familiar with the free version of Google Earth?? I clicked on something and lost "layers",how do I get layers back?

All of the viewable options should be available under the "View" tab at the top (click it and you will get a drop down menu). There are also several features you can use that are located in the "Tools" tab. I do not see any specific option under any category that is labeled "Layers".

Sounds to me like you've turned off the "sidebar" view.

Go to "View" menu and make sure "sidebar" is checked.

I tried all those and I still do not have layers.

Is the sidebar view visible at all?

Is the layers section of the sidebar just minimized? (bottom of Sidebar view).

Found it ! The Restore button on the main screen was set on "restore down" I re-set it to "restore up" and the layers showed back up.
