These idjits are keeping me fro logging on because there is a "possibility" of something not being right with the Forum and Firefox is apparently enabling them. I will try and search and destroy the problem with firefox, but if you have a similar problem, use IE. Much as I hate IE, it is working...

As much as I love to blame "the man", the fault lies here. We have been under attack for the last several days. Google was trying to do you a favor.

We have cleaned up the issue, repaired the damage, and now we have to wait for google to review our work. Should clear up soon...hopefully.

Yes, I was happy to get in here today after being blocked yesterday. My MacBook was telling me there was a danger possibility and I didn't know where it was coming from. Someone else on another gun forum wrote about the S&W forum being blocked, so I knew it wasn't just my connection...welcome back-thanks for your efforts-hope all the bugs are gone.

Firefox was doing the same thing. It kept throwing up the big WARNING page and stopping me. Maybe we should be thankful they try to protect us. I know the forum worked hard fixing the problem. It started on the Semi-auto forum in the Sigma area.

Thanks for the "Protection" and the effort.

I appreciate the protection from the various diseases that computers catch and I especially appreciate the effort put forth to correct the problem. Thanks to the Computer Gurus we are back in business.

I did not try to circumvent Firefox's block as I figured that there WAS a threat. Happily, that is behind us. Thanks to the Forum's administrators and techs for maintaining this forum.

I hope that there is a "special place in hell" for those that try to disrupt peaceful congress. I hereby volunteer for the position of "head torturer" for that job when they "call my roll"...

I was getting the same message yesterday...in fact, I had started a thread about it, but I can't find it now, so I don't know what happened. I'm glad to be able to get in today!

VERY good cleanup tools-

Windows Live OneCare safety scanner: Free online tool for PC health and safety
click the "Full Service Scan"
NOTE- this will be updated TOMORROW, 6-8-10, so run it AGAIN Tues or Wed.
free

NOTE for dummies like me- UPDATE these programs once you download them. SuperAntiSpyware has an incredible number of updates on some days. You won't necessarily be downloading the latest version, so download, then UPDATE.
UPDATE before each use, because most of the free programs do NOT update automatically.
The free version of AVG can be set to update automatically.

This tool installs, disinfects and removes itself. Good stuff.

Thanks for the timely response in getting this problem solved.

I was going into withdrawal.

Well done guys.

So it wasn't just me. I've been having puter/Firefox issues lately

It started on the Semi-auto forum in the Sigma area.

Not touchin' THAT one...

Wheelgun and Monkey Boy are the best! They also run THE best Forum on the internet. Lets send in those checks supporting their efforts.

I got slammed also. It even locked up my McAfee's. What a mess! It took me several hours to clean it up. I ended up using Malwarebytes. It is not the first time that it has bailed me out. I used it once before on the advise of a Microsoft Tech.
Malwarebytes
My computer was so infected that I had to run the scans in the safe mode just to get the malware program to run. Then later I got the problem message from FireFox. A little late!
All seems to be well now. I hope no one got hurt too badly. See, This is what happens when you play with guns in cyber space!

Just Lucky,I Guess

Last week,I got a warning, just once, from Mcafee. When I logged on again, a few minutes later,no warning and I got on ok.My computer seems unaffected by all the cyber mayhem many of my fellow forum members have been experiencing-google,speed,email and IE are all as before.I've run numerous manual Mcafee scans which have turned up nothing.I'm new to computers and all this virus talk concerns me.Am I just lucky,or have other forum members had a similar experience?
