better pics when I have it in hand.Its been modded of course, hopefully I will be able to remove the front sight and barrel sleeve, thoug I might leave the hammer in it for now.I wish the side plate polish was not so bad but for the price it was was well worth it.

That's a neat old veteran. Shoot it and enjoy it. TL's are great guns.I only own one TL, spent lots having it renickeled, etc, and while it looks better, it doesn't shoot any better.
 
I might strip the finish from this one and do the metal prep myself, depending on how bad the side plate is. Since I make custom knives for a living that part will be easy. Who did your renickle? Are you happy with it? I might go blue instead.....Do you have a pic of yours? I have an original front sight I will solder on, just cant stand the front sight thats on it now. At armchair gunshow I saw another old n frame I think in .45 with the same front sight and sleev treatment, anyone know who did this work with the strange sleeve over the end of the barrel?
