Got Vaxxed!

I've got a flu shot every year for as long as I can remember.

Covid vax is a joke. Can't believe organizations are still requiring it.

I remember years ago I deployed to the Middle East. I rolled but my sleeves, crossed my arms and walked the gauntlet.

I got three shots in each arm with a gun. I told them I was up to date. They said "tough keep walking".

Define "individual."

It's not about control. It's about medical science.
According to Merriam-Webster, an individual is a single, particular being or thing, especially a human being contrasted with a social group, or a single organism in contrast to a larger group. As a noun, it refers to a single person or thing, and as an adjective, it describes something belonging to or for a single person or entity, like "individual opinions".
As a noun

  • A single human being:This is the most common usage, referring to a person apart from a larger community or institution.

Define "science"...My good friend is a medical doctor and allergist since 1972. He advises ALL of his patients to avoid mRNA vaccines. Is he "science", or does it have to be another science?

Therefore, the choice to Vax is not individual. It directly impacts the social group.

I had a girlfriend who was into astrology. She kept insisting that the charts said I would be unfaithful to her. What's your point? Are we going to argue anecdotes and exceptions?

My elderly Mother was vaxed . She tested positive for Covid and developed Pneumonia . She lasted about two days .

I'm sorry to hear that.

As you know, there are a lot of factors involved and no vaccine works 100%. I do believe the different vaccines did protect a lot of people at that time. Not that it makes it any easier in this case. It was a terrible thing across the board.

Personally, I'm done with COVID vaccinations as the threat level has dramatically changed for most of us. As for Pneumonia and Shingles, I'm right there with the OP and got mine, too.

Quantification of residual plasmid DNA and SV40 promoter-enhancer sequences in Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna modRNA COVID-19 vaccines from Ontario, Canada[
David J Speicher 1, Jessica Rose 2, Kevin McKernan 3

First sentences of the abstract:

"For some of the COVID-19 vaccines, the drug substances released to market were manufactured differently than those used in clinical trials. Manufacturing nucleoside-modified mRNA (modRNA) for commercial COVID-19 vaccines relies on RNA polymerase transcription of a plasmid DNA template. Previous studies identified high levels of plasmid DNA in vials of modRNA vaccines, suggesting that the removal of residual DNA template is problematic..."

...Using fluorometry, total DNA in all vials tested exceeded the regulatory limit for residual DNA set by the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and the World Health Organization (WHO) by 36–153-fold for Pfizer and 112–627-fold for Moderna after accounting for nonspecific binding to modRNA... The presence of the SV40 promoter-enhancer element in Pfizer vials raises significant safety concerns.

I'm not that smart, but even I know that DNA contamination = higher cancer risk.

The Covid vaccine made me sicker than actual Covid. No more Covid vaccines for me.
For how long? One variant made me Lethargo Man for 18-24 hours at a weekend. Big deal.

The original measles only vaccine I had as a kid in the 60s erased 36 hours of my memory due to the reaction I had to it. 104°F fever will do that. Then "click" I was fine again.

Maybe poison. But in the meantime, I'm 70 and have never had polio, smallpox, measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis, Japanese encephalitis, meningitis, pneumococcal pneumonia, or any other disease for which I've been vaxxed except I've had COVID after the Vax, but wasn't sicker than a cold, and cholera after the vax but we were training outside by an open municipal sewer in clouds of mosquitos - my case was like moderate diarrhea.

The poisons will likely kill me, but what the heck - I'm too old to die young. 😀

Added: Yellow Fever vax for Ethiopia.
You can debate about other vaccines, but we all know that the jabs for C-19 do not (a) prevent infection or (b) reduce transmission. Ergo, they are not "vaccines".

Hmmmm....

The COVID-19 vaccine does not stop a person from contracting SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. However, it can strengthen immunity against the virus and help prevent serious illness, hospitalization, and death. It also helps reduce the spread of SARS-CoV-2. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/

The Covid thing has been discussed dozens of times here with the same result, just like OC.
I've been active on internet forums since 1999. I've read 10s of 1000s of posts and threads on just about every popular topic.

One of the most interesting aspects of the resurrection of a heavily discussed topic or the continual new discussion, is that facts, experiences, perspectives, anecdotal opinions change over time.

For example, the subject of open carry can be discussed with a new twist as a State might change its law(s) that can affect the 2nd Amendment or decision to carry.

With the COVID-19 vaccines, there are 1000s of new studies and reports that clearly and unequivocally prove what the vaccines have done to the bodies of millions and predicted to do to an estimated 4 billion people world-wide that have been injected.

The new information and data might add light to those who are concerned about educating themselves regarding their health, or confirm the choices by those who believe what they hear, read, or are told by their doctor.

According to Sonja Lyubomirsky, the percentage breakdown of the factors that determine our general happiness is: 50% Genetics/DNA – can't do too much about that. 10% is Life Circumstances – accidents, unpredictable events, winning the Powerball.

However, about 40% is Intentional actions, thoughts, beliefs, and choices.

So, we have considerable power, by choice, to positively or negatively affect our lives.

The result of our lives is not based upon our single actions, but the total sum of our choices.(y)

I've had them all, and from now on I only get the flu shot. Them snowbirds bring more than their luggage south with them.
No more Covid vaccines for me either. Got one at the beginning of the pandemic under pressure. Never again. Have had Covid twice, and I am 69.
Was not that sick. Have had bronchitis a few times, which was worse. My wife got the China virus at the same time I did, and had totally different symptoms than I did and was in the hospital for 4 days.

Good point, but it continues to be important to respond to bad ideas and bad reasoning when they appear in the public discussion because we are not done with viruses, outbreaks, pandemics, and death. The people of West Texas took one side of the argument, and now, after the illnesses and deaths of their children, they are taking the other. Why learn the hard way all the time?

I would add that the debate isn't about "being right" or "us against them." It's about a united society working together for the Greater Good. Americans have difficulty with this because, on the one hand, we value Individualism (whatever that is) but, on the other hand, we need Society and the vast benefits that accrue from social cooperation. This continues to be a conscious and unconscious conflict for us. The movie Dirty Harry is an example. Harry is a lawman who breaks the law, and yet he is a film hero to us. You can't get more conflicted than that.

This may be a little deep for a gun forum, but just because we like guns doesn't mean we have to be stupid. Heck, there are people on this forum who are reading The Divine Comedy and Paradise Lost. Who knew?

I don't there were very many child deaths from Covid.

5 long days. After that, I swore never again.
Yikes! Still, it could have been a bug you were already incubating or the vaccine. However, taking a harsh statistical view, it was more likely the vaccine. For another bug you have to line up the infection date and incubation period (variable) with the date of your jab.

As for "other bugs", there are plenty about. Something pretty virulent hit Vegas last Nov/Dec that many thought was a COVID resurgence. Nope, some other upper-respiratory virus that popped up, neither flu or COVID. Dangerous place, this planet Earth. ;)

Only 0.4% of the total 4.4 million deaths from COVID-19 were children, according to one site. That's just 17,400 deaths of those under 20 years of age.

But that's just one site, and I hesitate to start trading websites with people on the Internet because you can always find a URL to support any claim.

Yeah, the take up rate for the statistics class at my high school was pretty low in the 70s, too.

With all we've just been through I am surprised at all the trusting people.

Only we're not talking about trust. We're talking about reason and science, test results that can be repeated and quantified in a laboratory.

My faith in God and my religious belief is a trust in something that I cannot see, cannot prove exists.

Apparently it's not valid if they disagree.

But yet...you provide a URL to support your claim but have no interest in a URL that supports someone else's claim...got it.
