Great beer

There are a few good ones in the midwest, Fat Tire does work out OK, Shock Top pale Ale.

Schlitz the brand is making a come back too. It is OK.

Beer and diminishing returns; I was in Grand Rapids, MI on a business trip, there is a Micro brewery that serves food, they had a sampler platter with 9 different beers. Some were good. Due to my failure to take notes I do not remember the name of the best one. Due to my insistance to drink all 9 I was unable to tell much difference after 3 or 4 of the samples. The good news is I did not have a hangover the next day. Things that diminished, memory of what beer was best, memory of conversation after my platter was 1/2 empty, the walk back to the motel, the reasoning that dictated, go ahead and get the platter after all it's only 9 beers. I sort of grew up after that and joined the good ship USS Moderation.

Call me a Barbarian who puts ketchup on his scrambled eggs, but......I likes Michelob Ultra as well as anything. Don't care for a lot of the microbrews, Fat Tire & Guiness I do NOT like, but Killians Irish Red, Yuengling & Shiner Bock are also good, just more calories than I can to inhale....Just my 2 cents

Sir, Mrs. Ron H. likes that one. Me, I'm more of a PBR guy.

Hope this helps, and Semper Fi.

Ron H.

I was in Vons last week picking up a 12 pack of Heineken and some guy says to me, "why buy that? don't you know that colored glass leaks into the beer?" Never heard that before...then he grabbed a 12 pack of PBR and told me I should try it...said it was darn good beer...a 12 pack was only 8.99 so I grabbed it....I have to say, it's a decent beer for the money...:)

Your right about Sam Adams. Budweiser, definitely the brew to measure all other brews.

I've had Mama's Little Yella Pils and, yes, it's a fine pilsner. The best canned beer I've had lately is Shiva IPA, which is pretty much available only in the Asheville NC area. If you find yourself in that town, have lunch at Luella's Bar-B-Que and try one. Or two.

If you're in the Piedmont Triad, got to a Ham's restaurant or other place that has draft Red Oak. It's outstanding.

Ty drinks it and says he'll come over to visit anytime you're pouring....

I really prefer dark beer. Started drinking it after I got married. None of my teenage stepsons would touch the stuff, so it made sense to me! Found out I liked it pretty darned well. My house beer is Deschutes Brewery Black Butte Porter. I did buy some Guinness for Paddy's day though.

theres a brewery in san diego called stone. they make pale ales, ipa's and such. i highly suggest stone arrogant b*stard. or oaked arrogant b*stard or if your really bold double oaked arrogant b*stard. stone ipa is also really good. fat tire is also a good beer along with spaten beer. theres another german beer i cant pronounce buts its dark and heavy and taste really good. ive been on a beer tasting adventure since ive turned 21. theres alot of beers ive left out for the sake of not listing them and because i cant remember the names lol ohhhh double barrel pale ale is a good one as well lol ill add my other 2 cents later.. time to walk down vegas strip for a bit.. ill go try some new beer while im here for the weekend

I am not a real big Beer drinker, but about 6 years ago my Son turned me on to Yuengling. I know it sounds like an Asian name, but it is actually the OLDEST Brewery in America (in Pennsylvania). The beer is GREAT, and that's coming from a person who is not really into Beer, (rather sip on Single Barrel Jack Daniels or Woodford's Reserve). I do not know if it's available on the West Coast but if it is, you fellas should give it a try.

Since turning diabetic, I had to cut down on beer. Still, on occasion I will imbibe about a dozen beers a year. So, when I drink a beer it's gonna be a good one. One rule I developed when I was in grade skool. Never drink beer that comes in a can and never drink beer purchased at a convenience or grocery store.

Drank Draft Michelob amber at supper last night then went back home and had a cpl of the Bud light platniums with the Girlfreind's Dad and brother ! The platinum's could have been colder( stopped at carry out on the way home) but they did have a bold flavor!

I used to like the one that was brewed in the East New York section of Brooklyn, New York, at 315 Liberty Avenue.
