I like the look and feel of these wood, combat grips; however, the bottom finger grove doesn't match my pinky.

I want to sand that off and refinish the grips. What product should I use to remove the old finish? Any tips?

Personally, I use Citristrip. No fumes, you can use it in the house without problems. It works fast and well. It cleans up with water. You can apply it with just about anything, i.e.-rag, sponge, scotchbrite pad, a toothbrush if you want to get in little nooks/crannies. I have a Ruger Mini-14 wood stock in the basement now I plan on hitting with it this weekend (time permitting).

Rolan I've taken acetone, bought at Home Depot, & put it in a Mason Jar & completely emersed the grips in the sollution & would take them out & rub em down with 0000 steel wool & then put em back in doing this several times I was able to comletely remove the factory finish..
Of course I know your very good with wood so I know you got the rest already figured out..
Are you going to use tru-oil to refinish or a spray on laquer or poly finish??
Pics Required afterwards..

I got some of the Citristrip and it worked real well. I sanded the portion that didn't fit my freakishly small hands and cut off the bottom (that protruded past the bottom of the frame. Now that they are stripped, I'm going to hit them with a few coats of Tung Oil.
