Can anyone suggest some grips for my 340PD? I'm looking for something a little larger to get a better grip on the gun. It would also be nice to have more cushion on the back strap to take some of the sting off when shooting magnum loads. Thanks for any input.

The LAPD three finger rubber grip from Hogue does is exactly what you want.

Thanks casingpoint, those Houge grips do look like what I am after. They almost look a little too big though. Do you have any problems with printing? I carry at 3:30 in a Tucker IWB "Answer" holster. Sometimes I wear a long shirt untucked, and sometimes I tuck my shirt in. I know it sounds like I want it both ways...a bigger grip, and no printing. I guess I want it somewhere in the middle

For total comfort, you're going to sacrifice concealability. I'm using the Crimson Trace LG-405 and it's excellent. The backstap fill is kind to your hands on recoil, the laser sight is a wonderful benefit and the firearm disappears in your pocket with a pocket holster.

I strongly recommend it.

Danno,

I don't carry much concealed. No permit. Don't really need it where I am. There will be some loss of concealability, but not very much with shirt tail out and an IWB holster. I stick it under my belt no problem, no printing, which should roughly duplicated an IWB rig. The Hogue rubber grip is a little tacky, which helps hold it up when it grabs cloth, sort of like the old rubber band trick espoused by Mas Ayoob. Take a look at the smaller Hogue Bantam two finger grip, which is reportedly better handling than the factory boot grip. I suspect you will find the control factor during shooting much improved with the full Hogue LAPD grip. Just the thing for those downloaded Speer and Remington magnum rounds in your gun. Best of luck. Get back to us on the outcome sometime.
