Hello Guys..my name is Joe Fischer..Im new to the forum..Retired Army...and Militaria Collector all my life...my youngest Son..who is 32 years old and a Police Officer...is a big Indiana Jones Fan..and for the last couple of years has wanted to pick up a pistol that was close to the one that Indiana Jones carried....about 2 years ago..I purchased a Model 25 S&W .45 Long Colt Mountain Gun...got to looking at a photo of "Indys Pistol" and realized my model 25..with a little modification might do the job...so Ive ordered a set of the pre 1930 Grips..found the Military Lanyard Swivel..and a period Lanyard...and as soon as the parts come in...Ive a friend thats a master gunsmith..going to have him put the swivel on..I will try and take "Before and after" photos and post..its a fun project....by the way..I think Ill have him take the "Lock" off at the same time....This Forum is Fantastic...I have the source for the grips and Lanyard Swivel if anyone needs one...Best Wishes....Joe Fischer

Not 1930's service grips, but I really like the Ahrends Retro Targets I have on mine.

If you want a similar grip that is checkered check out Eagle's Heritage Grips.

Thanks for the suggestion....I took a look at the EAGLE GRIPS...and found the "Rosewood HeritageCheckered Grips"...they look fantastic...now not sure if still want to try and put the old 1930 style on or not...the ad states the grips convert the Round style butt to the old square butt look...and it sounds crazy..but im still considering putting a lanyard swivel on...probably one of those moments we have all had in our lives with a "brilliant idea"..its either going to look "Fantastic"....OR..."what the heck was I thinking"....so weigh in on your opinion about putting a lanyard swivel on the Heritage square butt grips...any and all help/opinions..Greatly appreciated....Joe Fischer
