How do you clean your bores? I am cleaning with patches, Hoppes, then bore cleaner with brass bore brush , snake and more patches. Am I over killing or need more? Do you do this everytime or snake and have a beer?

First thing I usually do is pull a nylon bore brush from breech to muzzle, and brush out the cylinder holes too. Then it's patches and hoppes until they come out clean. Then one last patch with a little Remoil on it. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to get one clean, depending on what ammo I've been shooting.

Assuming you mean medium to large pistol bores:
Wet patch -like Hoppes
brush
dry patch--2 to 4
Now LOOK at the bore and the last patch

You may be done, or you may need to get the metal(copper and lead) solvent and soak the bore for 20 min.

If you need to oil the chambers in your climate, you will save a lot of grief by cleaning it out before shooting.
