Guns and Health Care

I suspect under Obamacare it will be no answer, no care.
QUOTE]

I think you're probably right. As the government takes control of more and more of our healthcare they'll begin to dictate lots of aspects of our lives. No guns, no fatty foods, no motorcycles, no large vehicles that will hurt other people, no mountain climbing, etc. They'll justify it by saying that there is no reason why the rest of us should have to pay for your bad behaviour.

Oldman45, didn't read the forum before reading your email. Yes, UMC, is clear now.

Yes, you've convinced me and I'm thoroughly disgusted with the attitude of the UMC regarding firearms. They're doing the usual, blaming the implement not the individual using the tool but we all know that. They're also clueless that crime has decreased (except possibly in degenerate districts of large cities), especially where concealed carry is available. The trash they're protecting don't want to get shot while committing their robberies and assaults.

I'm even more stunned at the issue of rape. If I were present and my wife was attacked, you'd better believe I'd do all in my power to stop that attack, including killing the bastard. Amazing. Don

These people have their ethical values out of whack, they're not fit to give others advice. Don

The UMC is also not following the guidelines of the Bible they use in each of their stances.

I guess I'll have to buy my "Christmas Tree" elsewhere.
I'm shocked.I will tell others.

As my email said, I too was very shocked. There is a lot of misinformation floating around the internet and when oldman45 posted, I was incredulous but he delivered more than enough references to fully support his statements and he has my sincere appreciation.

I remain stunned that such a mainstream religion as the Methodists could sign up to such a horrible position. It suggests that if we were invaded or threatened internationally that we should just biblically "turn the other cheek" and meekly accept what our enemies have in mind. This is exactly what churches did with Hitler's Nazi party and they were party to the slaughter of 8 million people. One would think that they would have learned from history. Apparently not. Don

There is a rather clear dividing line between those who believe that you and I have a God given right to self defense, which by the way extends to our nation on our behalf, and the "turn the other cheek crowd".
When I was a young man I was astonished by "the better red than dead movement", I am no longer astonished, the East and West coast elites simply do not believe in my right to self-defense. (They hire armed guards)

You are correct. While they complain about MY guns, those like Hilary Clinton, Diane Feinstein, Barbara Boxer. Sarah Brady and others have concealed weapons permits and routinely carry, even while having body guards. Poor Hilary Clinton gets body guards at OUR expense and gets rent off the house on her property that houses her around the clock government security team. And that house was built at taxpayers expense.

Aint that the sobering truth. We're nothing to them but a vote and that is becoming a joke. What scares the hell out of me is the ones that don't care if they're here next term. What's next for their political future?AND what were they offered to do the dirty deal?

Don, if you read the info I posted that showed the proof on the UMC stationery, you will see they boast of 11 million members. I do not think they can issue such statements on behalf of their 11 million members since most probably own guns in their homes.

I would like to know how those Methodists on this board feels about the stand taken by the UMC.
