OK, I have been chasing a day off to meet with this guy for a month, but we finally hooked up today and met each other halfway... He lived near the east coast of Florida and I am in central Florida.

I have been wanting a clean Model 15-3 for several months now and this one presented fairly local. I got it from a guy that bought it ten years ago from a woman that worked at Publix who's husband had died. It was apparently his gun and he kept it in a desk drawer. I saw photos, but the lighting was washed out so I expected more bluing wear. It's nicer than I thought, although obviously not NIB or anything.. A light cylinder ring shows but all original finish. There is a little finish wear on the bottom of the crane and trigger guard, presumably from traveling around in a desk drawer for 40 years. It doesn't appear to have been fired much by the original owner. The guy I got it from said he had fired it a few times. Trigger is really light and crisp and lock-up is tight as new. It came with the ammo shown, which was a nice bonus, but the smaller boxes are partials...I know it's not a unfired Model 29, but I am thrilled with it...Seriously, I love this gun...I think I have a like audience here that understands this feeling... My wife said "It's nice honey...;) "

The serial range is 6K749XX which should put it in the mid 1974 era I think. These silver washer, unnumbered/undated S&W target grips were on it when I got it. Before I saw it, my original intention was to take these off and put nice magnas on it, but the checkering is nice and sharp and they fit my hand well, so I'm going to leave them on it...Plus the heavy frame seems to accommodate target grips better aesthetically.

Man, if I don't love a nice K frame.

Price was $450 cash as shown...No box or papers.

I would have certainly paid that for it. I shot my (pre 15) Combat Masterpiece last night at the range with wadcutters. Had a target with a cartoon likeness of Putin on it and it was easy to put 6 in his forehead rapid fire at 7 yards. Congrats on your nice acquisition.

I've got a few of them and think the M15 & Combat Masterpiece is one of the all time greats! I've used mine for both PPC competition & bullseye target shooting.

There are still a original Magna grips available for it if you decide you want them. Good score - use it well!

I actually have a set of same period magnas that would go right on it, but I am 6' 3" and my hands are rather large, so these grips probably fit a lot better than the magnas anyway.

One of the best shooters I have is a model 15! Great fun gun to shoot.

Nice gun, real nice wood, and nice price! Never had a 15, but have a 67 no dash {same as 15 in stainless} You are sure too enjoy it! Bob
