Hammer Spring on 9mm/32 Auto ?

I spent the day at the range firing 6 of my 9mm/32 auto guns that had been in storage for over 30 years, also some were surplus arms dating back to the 1960s. I reload and was using "hard" small pistol primers. I could not get a full magazine to fire without a FTF event. Primers had light hits in every case. Thinking I had bad primers, I loaded 6 blank cartridges for one of my S&W 38sp revolvers with the same primers and all 6 fired. No problem! Will replacing the hammer springs produce better results. My 9mm CZ75 was last fired in West Germany in 1985! The slide is now soaking in a bucket of ATF/acetone. Your suggestions are appreciated!

Are your primers really seated to full depth in the primer pocket? You might splurge for a box or 2 of factory to see what happens. If misfires continue, you might also want to consider changing recoil springs to make sure the slide is fully in battery along with hammer/mainsprings.

Soaking an entire slide assembly in a solvent really isn't that great an idea. If your problem is caused by petrified combustion products slowing the firing pin, it may get the stuff soft enough to function normally, but that really isn't solving the problem. After 30 odd years, a detail strip for cleaning and lubrication would have been a good idea prior to firing. Still not too late to do so.

If you do the detail strip, PLEASE do one gun at a time. Should you be reduced to showing up at the local gunsmith shop with a bag of parts, it's really, really appreciated if you have all the correct parts.
