Handguard

If it touched the front retaining cap, it wouldn't be free floating. No, it doesn't. :) And I appreciate the fact that DD made sure there was not a big gap.

I put a link to the Omega 7 install in a previous post in this thread....did you read it? Just wondering as I thought most of your questions would have been answered in the write-up.

I scanned through it and yes it did answer the questions. I just had to ask the gap is so close. I find it very cool that you can use the cap to keep stuff out of your handguard. I wasnt meaning to offend, I tried extra special hard to word it to not offend. But man that gap is close.

The handgaurd looks good, and that is a neat concept. I wondered the same thing about the end cap myself. (I didn't read the installation post.) I was thinking that it would bother me, but then I remembered that it ain't my rifle. Personally, I enjoy putting an AR in a vise and taking it apart. It really isn't that hard to do, and if I can save money doing it, its kinda like gettin paid to do it.

I put the Troy inds. ff qr on my mp15A had to remove delta ring and front support behind front sight I did all with out removing the barrel and front sight. all I did was use a small cut off wheel to cut all but last hair so not to nick the finish.

Try UTG quad rails. They sell on Amazon.com for around $50-55 shipped. Really good quality. I've had two sets of them. They are made in USA. Theyre not free float but both I've had fit perfect and are flawless. Took me less than 5 minutes to install by hand. No wrench needed, pulled down the delta ring by hand and slid them on. for the price and quality I don't think they could be beat. I'll post pics when I get home.

+1 on the UTG. The UTG Pro is about $60 and is pretty sweet. A buddy of mine has one on his sport.

Me? All I got is a Magpul on my "airsoft" gun. Go ahead and call me a dork.

Here is the UTG rail system. I really don't know what you could improve on a more expensive system.

if your going to just use a drop in quad the omega tactical on ebay is really tough to beat for 39.99 and free shipping. there are quite a few of us that have bought them and there warranty is bullet proof. I myself would still recommend going with the free float option. especially if you plan on shooting over 100 yards regularly.
