I'll bet it was expensive, in 1970s dollars. Like the early Texas Instruments 4 function pocket calculator.
Yep, in 1974 my SR 10 cost $175. Thats almost 12 Benjamin Franklins in today's money.

I may have an earlier version of the same toy buried in the house somewhere. I don't think I had the heart to toss it and haven't seen it in years.

I passed many a road trip as a kid playing Mattel Football. Eventually I got the Mattel Football II. It was green. Came out in early 80s. I don't remember the difference but the updated one was better. I'm 54. Today I look at video games and it's almost like watching live sporting events. The dexterity in my thumbs has diminished but I can still strategize and call plays in coach mode. I play a couple times a year.
All I had was the vibrating piece of sheet metal. I can't believe those things stayed on the market as long as they did. It made for a nice target when I was playing with my old Marlin 39A up at our camp.

I can have a fun time on the #1 setting, but right now, the #2 (more advanced) setting is too fast for me. I am enjoying playing it, and hopefully will get good enough to compete in the #2 setting eventually.
I'll have to check that out.
It's funny how something like this can bring back many memories of youth.
