Harry Brown

I bought a copy of the DVD 'Harry Brown' at Barnes and Noble yesterday, my wife and I watched it last night. I thought the movie was pretty good. Micheal Caine did a great job.

He is getting older and his character showed it, no super hero stuff just an older guy trying to fight back.

I thought it was pretty good.
Unlike today's action heroes, he is just a guy with guts and a little bit of skill from his days in the military and the will and mindset to win. Sometimes that's all it takes.

I rented that movie and watched it last night and we found it quite good. An English version of Gran Torino. A S&W 36 was used to good effect in the film. I was rather surprised that being an English movie one of the villans in the film was the rabidly anti-gun police official and police force that was unable to offer any protection to the citizens of the area from the criminals.

Watched it last week. Caine is a good actor and I have always liked most of his movies, even though I am not a great fan of most other British movies and actors. "Harry Brown" was a senior citizen version of the old Charles Bronson flick "Death Wish"

There was a real old west charactor named "Harry brown" that was a once lawman that turned outlaw and was hung. Is that who the movie is about?

No this harry Brown is a pensioner in England former Royal marine whose nieghborhood is over run with the english version of wanna be gang bangers.

I watched it over the weekend and loved it. It was the movie Gran Torino should have been.

Good show, I like Michael Caine, and my understanding, he served in the Korean War.

I liked the film also. What do you all think was going through his mind when he went down the underground walkway at the end ? My wife and I debated on the look on his face meaning that he was satisfied now that he could now safely go there or alternately that was he still on the hunt for miscreants. I thought he was still looking for bad guys and I thought the fact that he was wearing what appeared to me to be his marine pea coat suggested continued action.

Is this in theaters, or on DVD? Sounds pretty good.

I always enjoy Caine on the talk shows when he's in the US. Very funny fellow.

My favorites among his roles have been in Zulu and Battle of Britain. Didn't he also play the spy in Len Deighton's novels, in the films? Harry Palmer?

Michael Caine (I)

Harry Palmer was one of the best '60s spies.
