I know there have been threads on here before about this, but somebody has to have a way to get this company to stop calling. I have already put my cell number on the Do Not Call Registry, but I still get calls. I have lodged a complaint with the Iowa Attorney General, and they basically said they can't do anything, because they can't pin down where this company is. I get calls from several different area codes.
I have tried the following:
I politely asked them not to call.
I called back on the number that came up. It usually will not go through.
I ignore the call. They never leave a voicemail.
I answer and immediately hang up.
I answer, and pretend I'm interested in their "Service", then tell them I recorded the call, and am filing a complaint.
I answer, and as I'm talking to them go BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, trying to sound like an electronic noise that is the sign they are being recorded.:D They hang up.
I have been REALLY nasty and vulgar to the operator. They play along.
I have been super nice, and asked if they knew they were going to Heaven when they die, then I shared the Plan of Salvation with them. They played along.

I still keep getting the calls. It wouldn't be so bad, but now they're waking me up. I sleep, or at least try to, much later than most people because of my business. I have to leave my cell phone on 24/7 so employees or clients can always reach me, and unfortunately, they often have to in the middle of the night.

I really want to find some way of making this stop. I am thinking about carrying a whistle, and breaking somebodies eardrum next time they call. Don't know if that would work, but it would make me feel better.
Anybody have a way that has worked for you?

i get them too....i verbally stop them and begin to ask them a lot of personal questions.....i like the whistle idea as well

I like Rachels' voice, but I don't think I've gotten to a live person yet. I just hang up when I hear "I'm Rachel", or the caller ID works. Unfortunately, our hospital has an operator named Rachel who calls to remind you of your appointments.

I've used the whistle; does no good but is............satisfying.

The only strategy I heard might work is to never answer, and if they place XX# of calls without an answer they delete your number. I don't know if this will work or not but I am trying it. I have caller ID and if I don't recognize the caller, I never answer. If they leave a voice message and I need to, I will return the call. 99 times out of 100 it is a robo-call from Rachel or similar disgusting business.

Good God, as I typed this I just received a call from "Wireless Caller" at AC 773. I hav no idea who it was as they didn't leave any message.

I, too, am being assaulted by the robo calls. Every time I get one I report it on the National Do Not Call Registry. It doesn't do any good, but I feel a little better. It blows my mind that nothing can be done about this!

When someone calls, I look at the number. If I know them, their number will be in my phone, and the Caller ID will say "Joe" or "Sally", or whatever. If I don't recognize the number, I don't answer. If it's important, they will leave a voicemail.

If they don't leave a voicemail, I google the number. If it is the NRA, or Liberty Mutual Insurance, or someone else like that that calls and calls and calls, there will be a page about it. Other people complaining about getting calls from THIS number.

So I go back to my phone and there is, on mine, a "Reject List". I add the number to the reject list. Then they can call all they want, from that number. Phone don't ring. I've got ten different numbers from the NRA blocked. I've got three from some insurance company blocked.

I don't need to go through the hassle of putting MY number on a list somewhere. I block THEIR number from calling my phone.

My phone stays on. People that NEED to reach me still can. And the annoying callers can't.

Problem solved.

we have the option on our land line service to block calls that block their caller id. Once i discovered this nifty little feature, those calls stopped. I think a few still get through every now and then from other marketers.

Last one called me I answered, after they spoke, I asked how they got this number, and before they said anything, I informed them that "they had inadvertantly reached a FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SAFE HOUSE. Do not call this number again."
Now, I haven't heard from them, and that's been several months. Coincidence? Maybe.

Years ago TPC (the phone company), if you were receiving threatening/harassing/obscene calls, had a device that could be attached to your phone that would lock the circuits open when you pressed a button. This would allow them to trace the call. No matter what you did on the other end up to and including pulling the cord out of the wall would end the connection. I don't know in this digital age if that is possible but it would be nice device to have on a home phone. If enough people locked a telemarketers lines open, they would be stuck without the ability to make calls. Granted it would lock your home phone open but, if you're like me, people would call your cell if they didn't reach you on the home line.

Addendum: Within five minutes of posting this, I got my thirtieth "second and final warning" about reducing my credit card bills and another call telling me that "funeral costs are rising."

I get the exact same ones. Same one twice a day some time. I used to like goofing on them.Ever Listen to Bob & Tom show ? I just don't answer if I don't know who it is. The button on my cell to change volume,if I push that it kills the ring.

I had that for well over a year. I moved and gave up my land line. Have not been bothered since.

A Federal Government Safe House. I like That!:D
I often pre-text in my business, and can pretend to be somebody I ain't with a straight face easily.

I also want to find out about blocking calls. Only problem is they come in from a different area code every time, so I don't know if that will work.

My Dad had a similar gag. He used to put the scanner on a busy police channel then pick up the 'phone saying in a stern voice, "Control Room". Seemed to thin the herd a bit.:D

TRY AN AIR HORN -- A buddy does that.;)

would if CHS wasn't a recording from an automated center .. the machine don't care.
If I had a heavy construction biz ... I might be tempted to screw up the address and raise their building ... closest thing to legal I can come up with:D

If it's the same people, and I'm sure it is. They come from Mesa Arizona. There have been two state Atty Gens's that located them, and fined them big time. Your state Atty gens can and will do more than the FCC will..Be assure, the Atty Gen's have received a lot of complaints about the robo calls.

Those of you that have black listed the calls on your home phones....Does it matter what system you're on, or what make of phone? I have Windstream as the carrier, and use a ATT wireless phone. How do you do it?

Instruction book??????? I'll have to do some praying tonight, maybe the Good Lord knows where I put it.
