Has anyone else experienced this ammunition issue?

I bought a Springfield 1911 many years ago from someone who said to me, " do you want this piece of junk? I will sell it to you really cheap because it has all kinds of problems with ammo." It was only $250 so I bought it. The mag in the gun looks beat! I use a few of my mags to test it and didn't have a problem at all. I then tried his mag and it jammed, double fed and was just terrible. After I threw his in the garbage I laughed a little inside because I got a really nice 1911 for $250 plus a few bucks for the Military surplus mag I stuck in it...

I'm guessing many of the problems people have with all kinds of guns are either mag related of old worn out springs in the gun.

I shoot mostly my own reloads 98% of the time and have never had any issues. My friends don't reload and usually buy Blazer, Magtech or Republic brand ammo because they are usually the least expensive. To my knowledge (and I am always with them) they have not had any FTF, jams or set back of ammo enough to cause any stoppages. They shoot .380 out of Ruger LCP Max's, a Taurus Spectrum, and a Bodyguard. One of them uses Blazer 9mm 115 grain with no issues either. You might have just gotten a bad batch. If you have a lot of it, contact Federal and ask them to replace it. I'd also consider buying different brands or at least a different lot # and try that.
