If I was a dealer or a gunsmith, that would look great hanging on the shop wall in a nice frame. The condition is mint, (no tears, folds, or stains) and would be a nice write-off. But, alas, I'm neither, and I don't think, for a moment, that my dear bride would allow me to hang that in the living room. That's a lot of money for something to keep in the closet.

These 10-Ring Posters are very scarce & expensive especially when found in Near Mint condition as this one's in, but not near the $1250 this seller is asking!! I believe Don Mundell (Club Gun Fan) has a few of these & if he sees the post he'll be able to give you a closer estimate of it's true value!! Hopefully he"ll chime in later!!

Just got back from the S&WCA annual in Boise Idaho. I have had several of these over the years. I bought a mint one in the mailing tube about 5 years ago for $400.00. Top dollar for the poster shown is around $300.00, there appears to be a rust stain in a couple of places, and a few wrinkles. The seller appears to be dangling a huge worm in hopes of catching a sucker. Save your money!

Thanks Don,

I wouldnt dream of paying $1250 for it...i offered $200.00 and, of course, they didnt budge.

A couple hundred dollars, or so, will usually buy these , in average condition, as is the one they are asking $1,250 for. Ed.

Several months or a year ago, I put a message on here , found a guy who had one he bought for .10 in 1944-45,new in the tube. The ad for them ran in Popular Mechanics. He wanted 600 offered him 300, then let others here onto him. Dont know if anyone ever bought it. Last few ,around here, in about this condition here have gone for 200-280 at auction. Maybe this one comes with the guns. LOL

At those prices, the fakers will be making them too. With todays color printers, it isn't hard to fake much of this older S&W paper stuff. Many of the parts lists on ebay look like copies but are advertised as new old stock.:(

With JSRIII's statement about color copies, I measured my original. It is 38" to the ends of both metal bands, it is 23" wide. I have seen other Smith and Wesson posters that didn't have the bands on them. They are at least 40" high. That extra space is need to place the bands on them. My point is, if you see a poster without the bands, and it is less than 38", chances are it is a copy. I work in the Printing business, a copy of this size would be very expensive to reproduce. I don't know where you could find someone to put the bands on. Paper quality would also be a factor. Only certain kinds of paper can be put through a copier.
Personally, I have never seen or heard of a copy of this poster.
