I see it in the local Cabela's every now and then. One time a customer had just gotten out of his truck and I could see his t-shirt pulled over a pistol. The only problem was the t-shirt was draped over the grip and the magazine floor plate was exposed. I couldn't tell if it was a poor attempt to open carry or to carry concealed.

Years ago, before Walmart posted their "Please Don't Open Carry" signs, I saw a gentleman walk in with a SiG discreetly tucked in an IWB holster. He was wearing black cargo pants and a black Pink Floyd Dark Side Of The Moon t-shirt. I'd venture to say 99.99% of the people within eyesight never saw it.

I didn't know Uncle Mike nylon holsters still existed until Indiana went with open carry.

In Kansas we can

carry open, or concealed without a permit. Ever since the law was
put into effect I think I have only seen 1, maybe 2 people open carrying.

They're not bad for storing a handgun you don't want scratched in the safe

The three guys in the armored car that brings my weekly pension payment ALL open carry,,,,,,,,,

Does that count??

:D

Almost everyone I've ever seen open carrying has been carrying a cheap handgun in a cheap holster. I've seen a couple who appeared to be carrying Rugers in their pants pockets.

I get the idea that they want to carry a gun but they don't to put any money into it.

I also get the impression that SOME of them have never considered the idea that someone might try to take it off of them. I see people carrying Small Of Back in an open top holster with no retention. I see people carrying in the Uncle Mike's with the nylon strap that you have to remove before you draw. I saw one guy with a Left-Handed Uncle Mike's IWB clipped to his RIGHT pocket. So, it was just hanging from the pocket and one old guy who was carrying on his right hip, while carrying a cane in his right hand.

The dumbest thing I see is people who open carry at the gym. they go out of their wake to make it noticeable then take it off and put it in that stupid cardboard locker.

I don't start conversations with people I don't know

I live in Mississippi and open carry is legal. Nevertheless, I obtained a concealed carry permit, because I think open carry, at least in some locations, does nothing but invite confrontation. Therefore, I believe that concealed carry is the responsible way to go.

A few times a year I'll see it. Every single time I immediately notice it and can't help but stare a few seconds at it. People can carry however they like, and I always view them as potential allies if SHTF. That being said, not something I'd be caught doing, mainly because I can't imagine the amount of times people would give you a hard time or call the police on you and cause you a hassle. Tactical considerations aside, I just wouldn't want the hassle.

Leaving Walmart parking lot yesterday, I saw a man and his wife heading to the store. He had a pistol on his hip. He had a tee shirt tucked BEHIND it (could have covered it).

I pulled up beside him and said, "Thank you. I wish I had the guts to do it."

He said, "As long as it's legal, I'm doin' it."

Do y'all see people open carrying?
....my local grocery store allows concealed carry, not open....I CC at Walmart also
..I have not noticed any open carry
