I have a 9mm compact 2.0. I haven’t fired it since the pandemic for a few reasons. I’ve cleaned and lubed it a couple of times, to have fresh lube. I’ve kept it loaded with 10 or 12 rounds in the 15-round mag, and one in the chamber.
I think it’s good to go. What do you think?
I’m also curious in general about just how long a pistol can go unfired and still be reliable.
Thank you in advance!

Unless you've done too much or too little lubrication, there's not much that can go wrong.

Climate dependent, too little lubrication can lead to corrosion, though modern guns are generally more resistant to this due to modern surface treatments.

Too much lubrication can lead to ammunition primers (especially in the chambered round) being compromised, or a gunked up striker that can cause primer ignition problems.

If you clean it, properly lubricate it, and make sure that your striker is dry, there shouldn't be much to worry about.

Thanks! I think I’ve lubed it properly. Also, it’s in a Pelican case, with S&W paper folded over and under it.

There's a good way to find out for future reference...

When I go to the range, I always fire 3-5 rds out of my carry gun straight out of the holster. Then I proceed with range time. It gives me confidence that it will work when I need it.
Pocket lint and all from my pocket holster carried Sig P365!

Its always fun to see the cloud of pocket lint and other things fly off/out of the gun when you shoot it after carrying it for a while.

i can't believe no one has told you not to fire this pistol there maybe lint in the barrel. YOU NEED TO SEND IT TO ME ASAP. I have a lint from barrel removal company and always return them cleaned and ready to go. My turn around time is only 3 yrs.

As long as the lubricant is not thick and gummy or oil has seeped into a primer pocket, it should be fully functional.
