As most places in the Southwest, it has been extremely hot here. For the last two months, we've also had high winds most days. The wife and I usually go to the outdoor range at Ft. Bliss every week. Last week the weather defeated us. Today we decided to bear the heat and make the effort to shoot. The wife wanted to make it a revolver only day.

The wife shot her Colt Diamondback and Ruger New Vaquero. I shot a S&W model 10 and Ruger SP101, both snub nose. After only an hour, the heat got to me and we packed it in.

We did get to see our hawk buddy that has been a resident at the range for at least the last five years or more.

Today there were some birds hanging around because they are nesting. I think they are swallows. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can identify them.

At home, we have been entertained for the last two weeks by crazy bird antics. I posted a thread on this but didn't have many pictures.

We have a hummingbird feeder and feed 5 resident birds as best we can tell. The feeder is under the patio cover so is back lit, therefore photos are just silhouettes. One bird thinks it is his private property and roost in the salt cedar bush 10 yds away between feedings.

The finches love to hang out in the salt cedar. The females battle with the wife over the hummingbird feeder. Sometimes the whitewing doves get in on the action.
