February has not been a snow free month here! Big surprise! 😄
Anyhow long driveway, top half open to north wind, so when the wind comes up often fills in the driveway again overnight. Being as it is a ATV with a plow it will only handle so much, so have to stay on top. After early this morning plowing in below zero temps, looking into heated gloves, mittons, or grips? Thoughts, ideas, warnings, would be appreciated. There is a 12v. accessory plug on the dash, so maybe possibility in lieu of built in batteries? I know you motorcycle people have experience with this also so chime in as you see fit! Thanks in advance!

My daughter sent me a Xmas gift of battery powered heated gloves from Cabelas. They were nice, but I returned them and explained to her that it was overkill for the kind of cold I encounter. I got ammo in exchange. They cost $49.95. They were well made and would, probably serve well.

My Ariens RapidTrack snowthrower has heated hand grips. I need gloves because the darned thing is too hot without them!

With power steering, hydrostatic drive and an electric starter I can clear more than 600 feet of steep driveway in a snap. Cost me a couple of Social Security checks, but it is worth every penny.

Thanks everybody, some things to look at!
Susposed to be -12° tomorrow morning, with a high of above zero, maybe +7° tomorrow.
Little or no wind, YEAH 😊! So hopefully everything I got done today doesn't have to be repeated!
Something called spring is just coming up, next week or so, so maybe get ready for next winter? RIGHT! And I believe in the tooth fairy? 😉

I plow with my ATV as well and have a big pair of mittens, not heated. My fingers are ok but sometimes my thumbs feel like they are frozen. I have thought about heated gloves but have never gotten them. I just take a break to warm my hands if they get too cold. If it's real cold I wear my ice fishing gear to plow.

Those thick, bulky, military surplus (Korean war?) mittens work great, and are pretty cheap to buy online. Wear a pair of thin glove liners, and a disposable hand warmer under them, and you should be good to go. A friend who lives up in Maine snow blows a 400 foot driveway with that set up, and he loves it.

Back when I was riding a motorcycle, I had both heated grips, and a pair of heated gloves. It didn't take long to stop using the gloves and just wear regular motorcycle gloves and use the heated grips. The grips were plenty warm, and I didn't have to deal with the wires running to the gloves.

A heated vest however, WAS worth the hassle of the wire. :)

+1 on the Girbings heated gear.

I use the Girbings heated jacket liner and the gloves plug into the jacket sleeves. The jacket has a controller that plugs into my bike.

On high, the sleeves get to about 130 degrees. Pleanty of heat, so much that I have to wear something under the jacket liner. Riding at 15 degrees at 80 mph is a piece of cake.

Riding quads and dirtbikes in ten degree weather I use danmart gloves inside woolen liner leather mittens. Don’t grip too tight you can squeeze the blood out of your fingers.

I never was cold till I got old.

I've been snowplowing with an ATV for years (Alaskan winters), just get a set of Heat Demon lock on grips and thumb warmer and never look back. You can wear thinner gloves and get all the warmth you want with multiple heat settings. Installation is easy, just slide on and tighten the bolt.
