Even though I am a Kentucky Wildcat fan I hope that Auburn throws FSU under the bus and drives away. Still wish it could have been Alabama and Auburn for the Championship though.

Winston wins. They asked him who had the most to do with him being there at the awards and winning. He said his Dad. Admirable, but I think it was the prosecutor in Tallahassee.

Who you reckon Nick Marshall would say had most to do with him being at Auburn? Mark Richt, maybe?;) I am an Auburn fan right after UGA, but it is **** like this that has just about turned me off to college football. Marshall is a thief. You can try to sugar coat it any way you want, but there it is. Now, he is playing in the NC game. In effect, he is being rewarded for stealing from his teammates.

Chris Sanders Dismissed By Georgia Along With Nick Marshall, Sanford Seay - SB Nation Atlanta

So we have a NC game with a thief at qb for one team and an accused rapist for the other. I know, I know, but "Not Guilty" isn't the same thing as "innocent."

I am not comfortable with him winning the Heisman Trophy.

Nor am I, Richard. Not enough evidence to convict is not the same as didn't do it. The college alcohol and drugs scene is a mess. Young men at their testosterone peak and chicks who get blitzed and wake up knowing what happened. Then parents and others want them to go to the cops. Cops and DAs then get to look like they're not "tough enough on rape".

Bad deal all around.

The rapist won, how sad. The case may not be over. They may end up taking it back like they did with Bush if the criminal case gets revived. I think character needs to count for more in these awards.

Dang! Cut back on the caffeine friend. I'm not being a fan of anyone when I lament the disappearance of character, honor and integrity in competition. If you take all of the tenants of the qualifications for winning the Heisman seriously then there are many who should not have graced the stage. Marshall has a checkered past and I'm not sure he should have been there either.

I've said all along, the Heisman should be awarded to the most outstanding college athlete at the END of his athletic career. Only players leaving college football should be eligible. Judge them on their entire football career.

OHIO STATE? I take that as a complement! Those guys are lightweights when it comes to being obnoxious fans. I'm glad you didn't compare us to Tennessee fans or Florida fans! Now lets see...what bowl is Iowa going to? Iowa State? Do you guys even HAVE football up there?

True. And the "victim" may have been willing, but had "buyers remorse" later. I have seen quite a few reports of sexual assault made where that was way too much question of what really happened to make a prosecutable case. In this case, I think there is a question, but obviously, not enough the DA felt to make a "beyond reasonable doubt" argument to a jury. Now days, it seems prudent to record permission to proceed on a smart phone, or get it in writing, witnessed and notarized .

I also agree on the ethics and totality of a career. AJ had about the best career a quarterback ever had and is still a bridesmaid.

You look at the last two "winners" and this will tell you that
(character and integrity) have been lost on this award.
The guy who won obviously put himself in a position that
he should not have to say the least.
He's getting a free ride for an education alot of people would
give anything for but......

But hey, they have'nt won anything in Tallahasee in awhile
so the DA gives us assurances that it will be investigated
to the fullest before making a judgement on charges with
no thought about the time table.
Right !!!
There's as much big money in college football as the there is
in the pros these days. Same old same old.
Thugs and crooks get a free pass if they have enough
money, talent, big boosters behind them.
And no one can tell me different.

Chuck

If anybody thinks the prosecutor's office was going to bring a sexual assault charge against a possible Heisman and number one draft, they're crazy.
We all know the NFL will always find a place for a convicted felon/criminal who can throw a football with accuracy.

We be playin' LSU in the Outback Bowl on Jan. 1. Iowa State is still trying to recover from 2 yrs. of Chizik(the phony who hugged his bible wherever he went). Iowa State is trapped in the Big 12. By that I mean they'll never be competitive in football but the money is too good to walk away.

Guys, stop and remember something. When all that happened, Winston was 18 years old and fairly new to college life. Yes, he may have been stupid in what he did but read the entire report. She gave conflicting statements, more than one DNA present, the police dropped the investigation back in February and it wasn't until there was talk about the Heisman that a Tampa newspaper stirred up the pot. Sounds to be like a college girl got drunk and went to bed with someone and then decided she shouldn't have done that. I don't know all the facts and unless someone on here is with the Tallahassee PD or the State Attorney's office and says different, I'm going to believe it was a couple of college kids acting stupid like college kids are prone to do. And be honest, how many of us did something stupid when we were 18. I know I did.

I just find it amazing that some of us who deride the media for blowing things out of proportion when it comes to firearms are ready to take everything the media speculates about something done by a college freshman as gospel.

I resent that OSU fan remark. just wait until next year when OSU actually has a defense.
But back to the Ops remarks.. I don't think he should have won it either. I thought AJ McCarron should have won it. He has 2 BCS titles to his credit. And has played in the top 4 in the country all 4 years. The Heisman is not about stats. It's not supposed to be anyway. But this year that is all it was about. I think some thing Hinky was going on there.
Anyway this unbiased Ohio State fans predicts that The new Heisman trophy winner is going to run into his 1st defense of the 2013 season and Auburn is going to school them and humble them and then destroy them!! You heard it here 1st!!! From NE Ohio!

AH HA! The promiscuity defense.

Bob...congrats on the bowl and good luck with that. They beat Auburn! Oh..and if you have an issue with obnoxious fans, I'd stay home for this one...LSU taught Florida and Tennessee!
Good comment about Chizik ( Cheezits)

For the record, I think AJ should have won it. Class act all around. They should change the requirements to win the Heisman by including being graded on "off the field behavior" as well. I was taught that if I didn't want to get in trouble, not to put myself in a position where that could be a possibility. My Mom always said, "Son, nothing good is happening out on those streets after 11PM, be home by then".
