Someone dropped the ball and forgot to call me and tell me it was on!!!!!!!! It looks like it is going to be good.

It shows promise. Not quite up to "Deadwood" standards for grittiness...but who knows?

Sure as heck beats watching the contrived "reality" shows.

FN in MT

I watched it, I think it is going to be pretty good, killed off a pretty good (what I thought was going to be a main character, the guy that played detective in monk.) Actor right off though.

Same old storyline, someone does something bad to your wife, mother, father, brother, cousin or dog and in 45 minutes the lead player goes from the east coast to the wild west and finds the culprit.

I think I remember one or two movies with a plot along these lines.

I give it a five.

I'm still in. Even if it's a 4, it's still 3 better than 99% of what's on TV! I think we're all desperate for some good drama and while we're hoping this show will blow us away like a Deadwood, even if it doesn't, I think it's still pretty darn good.

Not a bad show, but has anyone noticed that the Indians might as well be riding the short bus? They have a loan white female that survived an attack, bleeding from an arrow wound through her upper chest/shoulder area, running around in a red velour dress in the wilderness, and they can't successfully track her? C'mon.

I am gonna watch it for another week or two. I echo the above, it ain't the best show on TV, but there ain't any "Real Housewives" on it either!!

Too bad, too. When I saw this guy was in it I thought that was cool because he is good in everything. He was the killer in Silence Of The Lambs, too. But he gets killed right away. I wasn't sure about the show because the main guy seemed to have that typical Clint Eastwood mystical mythical gunfighter thing going in the previews, but he's not that way at all in the show. It just had a spagetti western look on first impression. But I liked it. Seemed like forty minutes of commercials, though. I'll watch it "On Demand". I'm glad it's a western and won't nitpick it to death like I usually do.

The character "The Swede" is similar to a pivotal character in the novel
The Man from Beijing; a novel by Swedish writer Henning Mankell.

I like it. The second episode was better than the first. They seem to be doing a pretty good job with guns - the hero's Griswold, the magnate's pepperbox, and some Remington cap and ball revolvers.

I'm looking forward to the next episode.

Not bad so far except that the ex-Reb and ex-slave teaming up is a little far fetched for the time period and that converted Indian brave would not be associating with his old tribal buddies. Hey, it beats some of the junk the major networks put out this fall. AMC is on top of its game.

I really liked the premiere episode, but either this weeks was not as engaging, or I was just overly tired, because a few minutes into it, I was snoozing. The one that got his neck slit...I know him from something else, I think? Also, the one that did the slittin', he is a singer (Common) and I thought he did a pretty decent job at acting. Was pleasantly surprised. I dvr'd it, so I will have to get around to watching it (when I'm not ready for bed) before next Sunday, but I agree- it sure beats a lot of other shows on the lineup. :)

The guy who got his throat cut played Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs and Frank Holman in Crime Story.

I share the same last name of the ex Confederate/slave owner so I had to watch, not a common last name.

I have to be at work at 5:00am most mornings. So I don't stay up past 9:00pm most nights. My wife likes it so far, also her Father.
She Tevoed. But I have not watched yet.
How are the guns??? I hate when the guns carried, are not accurate for the time.

It's off to a slow start but they do seem to have the guns reasonably close to correct for the post Civil War era. They seem to be weaving several different characters and story lines, so it may get more interesting as the characters develop. The former slave risking being hung for killing a white man to rescue the ex "massa"/reb soldier was a bit of a stretch. As already said, even giving it a 3 rating out of a possible 10, it's still twice as good as most of the other junk being offered for us to watch.
