Hello from northern IL

Hey everyone! Ray here, from the far north 'burbs of Chicago. Picked up my first S&W last night, an M&P9! Ive had my eye on this pistol for a while now, and was finally able to get my hands on one! Ive always been a Ruger owner, all hammer fire, and this M&P is my first striker. Anywho... just wanted to say HI. Looking forward to meeting some new people and learning a few things around here!

Welcome from Wisconsin, Ray! Another convert to plastic striker fire. Congratulations on giving it a try with an open mind. I've got my wheel gun loving buddy convinced. After owning a whole bunch of revolvers, mostly S&W he now has 2 striker fired auto loaders with another one on the horizon.

Thank you, neighbor! All my other pistols, except one, have been DA/SA hammer fire w/decocker. While the M&P has always been on my 'wish list', my original plan was get a SD9VE so I could "get my feet wet" with strikers. Luckily the deal for this MP9 came along and I just couldn't pass it up! I guess either way I would've been joining this forum anyways! lol
