I have a 681 no dash coming to me on Monday from an online trade. This will be my first S&W and my second revolver. Cant wait to shoot it!

I was next to a guy at the shooting range this morning who had a 686 and it just made it harder to have to wait til Monday for my 681.

Back in the 80's, my agency issued 681's for all regular officers. As a reserve officer, I was allowed to carry my 586.
When we got a new chief, the 681's went away but we were allowed to purchase the guns. I got one of the sidearms issued to a department armorer, and it is just plain a joy to shoot.
A little history from Texas for your enjoyment.

I was told that the original owner of my 681 was a police officer in mass.
I love the gun, I cant wait to get it to the range.
