well, I USED to own a couple S&Ws, technically still do (they're abroad). Probably many of you know, Britain isn't exactly pistol friendly having made them illegal in 1997 after the Dunblane school shootings. Am still bitter about the ban, but I have to move on, and there ARE other countries!

Enjoy the site but am only looking to post the odd observation/comment.

Welcome aboard.

I'll be visiting the UK for the first time in early September. We will be in London half the time, them up north for a look at Scotland.

Greetings, Mate! I spent several months in the UK last winter-got out just before the blizzard. I have lots of friends in the police there. I was amused when I went to watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace. Everyone else was awed by the ceremony while it seemed the Brits present were most awed by the sight of armed policemen at the gate. Best Regards!

Hey Frank if you go to London or Edinburgh I can recommend some great accomodations and fantastic restaurants. Mind the Gap!

Welcome! I spent 2 years in your fine country in Norfolk County, RAF Schulthorpe AFB back in the early 60's. Many fine memories of Fakenham, Kings Lynn, Hunstanton, Sheringham, Norich. Also the really cold winters and no the North Sea doesn't ever warm up enough to swim in, even in July.

Hope to revisit someday.

Come visit us in Florida---we will go to the range. You will hear many familiar accents there. Seems your countrymen are trying to keep in practice.

Welcome aboard!
Although I have never visited your country, my father was stationed at Rattlesden, with the 8th Air Force during the war.

Welcome from Texas mac2. Great forum, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

Always nice to have a new member of the S&W family check in from across the pond.
