Hello from Tucson, AZ

Hello. New member here from Tucson, Arizona. I've been a S&W collector for years. In fact, my first pistol purchased (as an adult) was a 686 6".

Well today I rejoined the ranks (after having no S&W revolvers) by purchasing two: 586 4" (no dash) and 19-5 4". Both were estate purchases, coming from a former police officer.

As you will see from the pics, these examples are pristine.

Honestly, I don't think he ever fired the 19-5; it's still wrapped and in the box.

I love these older examples; the bluing is absolutely gorgeous.

I'm looking forward to participating in this forum.

Welcome to the fold. I’m in Kingman, Az, and I also absolutely love the older Smiths, (especially pre 1981), when guns were made with actual blue finish (not black !), and pinned barrels. Their actions were both smooth and crisp.

Yeah. I probably make a mistake selling my 19-3 2.5".

Welcome, from a point due east of you (in Cochise County). Southeast Arizona has over the years proven (for me, at least) fertile collector's ground. I also seem to find good stuff whenever I visit the Prescott area.

Welcome from a recent AZ transplant. I'm another resident of Cochise County. Two nice pieces you picked up! Murphy's seems to be my downfall since I arrived here.
Yeah. Murphy's do get some nice pieces in from time to time.

Welcome from the NW corner of Alabama. We love Tucson, but its been some years since we were there. We lived in SW New Mexico for 10 years and made some trips to Tucson. Love the Arizona/Sonora Desert Museum and we have camped in a park south of town I think the county owned and operated?? Two very nice S&Ws you have there - greatly regret trading off my no dash 586 4" blue gun.

Welcome. My folks retired in Tucson and lived there for 18 years. I live in Utah, which is in the early stages of being loved to death, and I'd ditch it for The Old Pueblo in a heartbeat if I could. Especially in the Winter.

Interesting, my wife and I have been considering relocating to Utah. The summers here are too long and hot.
