C8CB51F0-361F-430C-B4AC-BB0EBCD92628.jpg New Mdl 10 2"( non pinned barrel) first time firing, six rounds and locked up. Took apart when home and found this, have never seen it before only heard of it happening.
Anyone here fix this? Please PM if so, thanks in advance.

I believe Jack First still sells hammer noses for your model 10, depending on your dash number.

Jack First Gun Parts

Piece of cake to change, you can do it yourself. Remove the rivet, replace the hammer nose, drive the rivet back into the hammer and nose. Stake the rivet into the hammer on each side with a 1/8" flat tipped punch, or a 1/8" starter punch. Check for required free movement of the nose in the hammer after installation.

If it were mine, I would install a spring loaded hammer nose as a replacement. ( if you can find one) This small spring relieves stress on the nose, and holds it in the proper position as it enters the frame cavity. Not a required upgrade, but will extend the life of the new nose.

It happened to my 65-3. I couldn't find a replacement nose anywhere and ended up taking it to a local gunsmith who had them, but would only install them himself. Cost me $50.

If you can't find an OEM replacement, I think Ron Power makes aftermarket replacement noses for some models. I've seen them on Brownells' website.

Thanks guys, looking for someone that can replace hammer pin. Recovering from left hand thumb surgery and do not want to push healing. Wore thumb brace for over a year waiting for the covid mess to settle down, Ortho. surgeon finally fixed it but still in a brace for a few more weeks.
