I've got a model 60 I just bought with some old crappy pachmyre grips, and the grip screw is stripped...just turns and I can't remove it. I could use some advice here!
Thanks...I've been off this forum for a good while, and it's nice to be back!

Chances are that the insert nut may be spinning along with the screw. I have had this happen to me and I used a Channellock plier across the grip to hold the insert while turning the screw head.

Can you see the escutcheon that the screw threads in to,,or is it hidden in the grip material?
If hidden, and the grips are truely 'Old Crappy' (unwanted?)grips,, I'd simply cut into the grips with a sharp knife carefully and get down to the escutcheon on either side and snip the grip screw to release the 'Old Crappy' grips from the gun.

If you want to save them there are a couple ways to try and keep the escutcheon from turning while unscrewing the grip screw. Also if the scre is just stripped and you can get at the escutcheon that it screws into,,just punch the grip screw out.
It's threads are already damaged or those of the escutcheon are. So punching it out and free won't harm anything already done.

Thanks guys. I cut into the grip on the escutcheon side, used small vise grip, and unscrewed the grip screw....the escutcheon was turning all along.
They're off now.
Stay safe.
