Hello I'm 24 years old and I'm new to SW collecting I recently picked up this 32. I don't know much about it and would appreciate any insight paid 600$ because I fell in love if I overpaid o well, it has 5 screws sn 584145
It feels slightly smaller than my model 37

Welcome to the forums from the Peanut Capital of the World in the heart of the Wiregrass! It is a .32 Hand Ejector built on the Improved I Frame. It likely shipped in 1952. These are fun guns to shoot but the grip may be a tad small for male hands. If you want something that fills your hand, J frame grips that totally enclose the grip frame will work. You may have overpaid a bit but I think the fun of shooting it will mitigate any disappointment. Have fun!

I appreciate the information good to know I have a I frame in the collection! I think I'll go ahead and shoot it knowing what I know now!

You will enjoy shooting it, and you'll find they are like crakerjacks, you can't have just one. This one is a 30-1, slightly newer than yours.

This one is a 32 Regulation Police. The extension grips cover the round butt and make it into a square butt.

This is a pair of 36 Targets, of slightly different vintage.

This is a pre mod 30, 2" 32.

This one is a 3" Pre Mod 30, 32 HE

You'll find you can't pass one up.

Awesome display I hope to one day have at least one of every frame size

With a basic reloading setup you can load lots of good ammo cheap!
Cases last for nearly ever. Bullets in bulk are cheap.
I’m addicted to.32’s. Even have two Sheild.30SC EZ’s. One NIB in case they become collectors items.
I’ve got a couple of Lady Smiths. A first and a third issue.
Both are gross looking formerly nickel plated and have badly corroded bores. However, both are still capable of 50cent piece size groups at 7yds with a 90-100gr bullet at ~800fps. Both amazingly shoot to point of aim.

Check out the various videos on YouTube regarding the effectiveness of these little guns. They’re rather suprisingly good!

I would love to learn to handload 32. Does Lee make a basic hand set up I scored a lee 38.spl one years back and love it

Brush2000,
If you’re having “buyers remorse” just drop me a PM and I’ll be glad to give your money back + “sum” extra 😎👍🏼
Appreciate the offer but no way! This is the first of it's kind I've seen in my area after attending every gun show since age 18. I know it may not be rare but rare to my area

The 32 S&W Long is an easy round to load. As to the Lee Loader they used to offer one in that caliber but, as far as I know, it's no longer made by them. I started loading the 32 with one but sold it after I got my first press and bought a die set for the caliber. You might find one of the old ones at a gun show or on one of the online auction sites. If you like the idea of an easily portable setup look into the Lee Hand Press and a set of regular Lee dies in 32 S&W Long. The Lee die set comes with a loading data chart and is easy for beginners to use.

The gun shot great very happy with the accuracy and smooth single action trigger 5 in group at 25 yards hopefully I can dial that in even more. My edc 642 with diamond high horns and Tyler T also picturedIMG_20250623_162751088.jpg

OP, nice .32 Hand Ejector and I bet you enjoy shooting it.

You can tell by the pictures that the .32 caliber is addictive by the nice guns that have been shown.

I am guilty also and here are a few of mine.View attachment 769751View attachment 769752
Very nice indeed I wish there was a single source for all things I and j frames! I really enjoy the flat latch with ramped sight diamond grips just beautiful
