Hi Everyone,
Thought I would try and see what we can do to extend a helping hand to our disabled vets. I'm willing to give away one of my round cut j frame holsters to the first ten individuals are willing to make a direct donation of at least $20.00 to the DAV. First come, first serve.
Cordially,

I'd be honored to donate $20 to the DAV. When I retired from the Hines VA hospital in Illinois, I left behind quite a few disabled vets that I had the privilege of sharing some time and conversation with.

I wish that I was near a VA hospital down here in lower Alabama. Maybe I could volunteer in a VA clinic nearby. My neighbor visits one, maybe not too far away. I'll ask him where it's located. Thanks for getting my mind in motion about this.

And thanks also for your generous support of these vets.

Let me know if you have a means of accepting my donation, and how I can contribute.

I'll donate as well. Mom and I take books to our VA here, plus we send care packages to soldiers we've adopted. I think we're on 8 or 9.. adoptasoldier.com if you ask they will give you a soldier from your state... very cool!

Hi amanda66 & sonofthebeach,
Thanks for being the first two to help our disabled vets. Just send me a private message with your shipping address and I will get your holster out right away. Just go to the dav website and make your donation.
All the best,
R. Mika

Thank You.The DAV is on my regular contribution list, and happy to make another.
Take my holster and pass it on to another contributor.

A very nice gesture, indeed, Mr. Mika.

Count me "in," I will do my part with the DAV, gladly.

PM enroute...

Thank you.

After getting a PM from Mr.Mika I decided to take the holster,
I will do a Karma instead, in the next couple weeks.:D

A very nice gesture...

Mr. Mika !! ( If you don't mind, I would like to add an idea to this thread )

For those of you who would like to do even more, here is an organization that the wife ( SGM USA CID retired ) and I ( DoD CERT retired ) donate our time and money to...

Operation First Response

What a wonderful idea!!! I'd be honored to donate $20 to the DAV as I am a lifetime member and try to make our monthly meetings when possible. Seems that something always comes up on my schedule that conflicts with the DAV's regularly scheduled meetings from my chapter. Thank you for helping the service men and women who really deserve a helping hand...

I give to the DAV regularly, clothes and money. They are a very reputable charity! Another $20 donation would be my honor!

Very generous offer, and I applaud the sentiment. I wish I could do the donation. But I give $25 to the DAV every month (my late brother was a disabled Navy veteran), and it's all I can manage on my very small income.

I hope you'll get a lot more responses for a most worthy cause.

I don't need a holster from you but I make several contributions a year
to the DAV and maintain my membership. They even send me a stamped envelope and address labels for me several times a year.
I had their help in the past, and they maintain vans for veterans in
a number of cities who don't have transportation to VA facilities, as well
as assisting on veteran disability claims including representing veterans
without charge before the appeals board.

Not to detract from a very worthy cause, but it's a 5 year old thread. Is he even still doing this?
