My Sigma was shooting low and to the left, and upon closer inspection, I found that the front sight was not centered on the slide (a tiny half moon of the hole in the slide was visible on the left side of the sight), so I called S&W customer service and was told to send the slide back and they would put a new front sight on. No problem, right? Wrong! Sent it in two weeks ago, and still don't have the slide back. Called customer service, and they don't even know if it's been worked on, but they do know it hasn't been shipped. Nor do they know when it will be fixed, because their closest guess is "It may be ready sometime next week...". How hard can it be to put a new front sight on correctly? According to these forums, not hard at all. I deserve the STOOPID sign for not just following the steps ya'll have posted about replacing the sight, instead of sending it back to customer service, because now half my Sigma is here in Florida, and the other half in Massachusetts. I feel so STOOPID!

Anyone else have a problem with customer service, or is it just me?

And it would have been so simple just to tap the rear sight a touch to the right......

It is also possible the "low and left" is gun movement just before trigger break: very common.

S&W is like any other major manufacturer... it has a lot of folks to satisfy. Like any other return for service, your slide will be processed in the order it was received. That is fair to everyone. You are not stupid to send it in to S&W CS for repair. Two weeks is simply not a long time to wait. Over a number of years I've sent firearms back to Colt, Ruger, S&W and Remington. None of the firearms shipped were returned in two weeks. Colt took the longest replacing a Python hammer that the spur broke off. I don't remember the exact time taken by the other companies. Recently I sent a 686 back to S&W. It took 6 weeks. Hopefully you will have your slide back in hand shortly. Sincerely. bruce.

I had to send my out of time model 60 in and it took eight weeks. And it was hanging up on one chamber when I got it back. They had it for two more weeks the second time around, and all was well when I got it back. I definitely wouldn't panic if your slide has only been there for two weeks.

I had to get a broken ejector replaced, and from initial call to S&W to get a shipping label to having it back in my hands took a total of 9 days. Guess it depends on how much is in the pipeline.

good thing its not a ruger they took over 4 months to repair my shotgun and 3 months to fix my mark II,

Clarification: Initially, with the POA at center mass, POI was 7-8 inches left and 5-6 inches low at ten yards. After moving the rear sight as far right as possible and still be in the confines of the slide, it reduced it to 3-4 inches left. When lining up the rear sight to the bottom of the front sight, the POI was where it was supposed to be. Had the NRA instructor/gunsmith from the local gunshop fire it with the same results. He was the one that noticed the front sight was off center. In other words, to hit center mass, I had to aim for the left shoulder.

I guess I'm comparing the amount of time for the repair to the service I got at Kel Tec when my PF9 needed minor repairs. Kel Tec is located in Cocoa, FL, and I live in Orlando, so they told me to bring it over and they would fix it. Took it into them at 8:30 in the morning, and was on my way back to Orlando by lunch. I guess I was hoping for as quick a turnaround for my Sigma. Oh well, hope in one hand.......

Maybe if you had driven to Springfield, Mass. they might of dropped what they were doing and got right on it. Not a very realistic comparison.
